Shivsrushti

Maharashtra's 350 forts stand as enduring symbols of the Maratha Empire and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s era. These historic forts, crucial for controlling the Dakhkan Plateau, are now endangered by time and neglect. Current heritage laws limit their restoration, but Shri Babasaheb Purandare’s Shivsrushti project offers a solution.

Shivsrushti is a heritage park recreating the architecture of these lost forts, providing an immersive historical experience. The first phase, Sarkar Wada, is open at Ambegaon near Sinhagad Road, Pune, featuring an administrative center, research library, multipurpose hall, cafeteria, and exhibition galleries. This project aims to preserve and celebrate Maratha valor for future generations.
